The beautiful clinker church is clearly visible from the main street of the village of Biecz. The church was designed in 1716 by the architect Georg Bähr, who also built the Dresden Frauenkirche. Surrounded by a cemetery, the sacred building towers over the other houses.

. In the 13th century, Neuzell monks built a church there and cultivated the vineyard. Over time, fires destroyed the castle, the palace built there, but also the village and church. But there was always a new beginning, as was the case in 1714. At that time the old church fell victim to a fire and with it old church registers, ceremonial coffins and the bell.
A new church with an octagonal floor plan was built and consecrated in 1718. Its builder is the well-known Dresdener George Bähr. He was born in Fürstenwalde in the Erzgebierge and was involved in organ building from an early age. In 1705 Bähr became a council carpenter in Dresden and made a name for himself above all in building churches in the Dresden area.
In 1715, art historians suspect, he took part in the construction of the castle in Sorau (Zary).
The church is performed “in the style of the Frauenkirche in Dresden. Inside and out, it is so simply noble that it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful village churches in the country, ”writes Dr. Berghaus 1856 in the "Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg". Today the church is used by the Polish Catholics. Instead of the altarpiece, the Maria is erected, but the patron s chair and a monument to the patron are still there. A harmonium and a wooden baptismal font also bear witness to the story.
