At the beginning of the sixties, trees, shrubs and perennials from many parts of the world were planted on a former field.

Thus the Forstbotanische garden offers nature experiences in every season: Rhododendronschlucht, Heidegarten, Pflingstrosenwiese as well as a Japanese department with cherry and Azaleenblüte and splendid autumn coloring of the fan harrows and cake trees, bamboo. In a 1.5-hectare forest area, you can discover North American trees such as giant sequoia, yellow pine, river cedar and Coloradotanne.

In the south, the 20-hectare peace forest, created in the 1980s, joins with trees and shrubs from all countries to which the Federal Republic used to maintain diplomatic relations. The tropical and subtropical countries, whose typical vegetation is not hardy here, are represented by symbolic trees.

During a guided tour, you will get to know the Forstbotanischer Garten. You will get insights into the variety of tree species and the wildlife in the Forstbotan garden. There are also tips for planting and care of woody plants.

      Opening Hours / Dates:

The Forstbotanische Garten is open daily:

Exciting, but unfortunately not accessible by bike.
