The village of Bruchhausen is now a district of Sandhausen. Originally it was a monastery property of the Cistercians of Schönau, since the Reformation until the incorporation into the municipality of Sandhausen a manorial estate.
The rich furnishings with old, solidly built courtyard buildings, some of which were designed as an ensemble, and the shoulder-high enclosing wall with a still-preserved defense tower indicate the former importance and prosperity of the owners at the time. Even today, Bruchhausen has essentially retained its agricultural orientation, among other things tobacco is grown there.

There is a lot to offer in the small hamlet of Bruchhausen: a good Italian and an organic vending machine with fresh eggs and other local products.
The tobacco shed is also a worthy monument.
