The Fankel barrage is a barrage on the Moselle near Bruttig-Fankel. It is equipped with a sector weir, a lock for large motor barges, a boat lock, a hydroelectric power station and a fish ladder. The barrage was completed in 1964 as part of the Moselle canalisation. Next to the barrage is the Fankel central control room of RWE Power AG, from which all barrages and hydroelectric power plants along the Moselle and Saar are controlled.
