    Known as the "Gypsy Bridge".

There is a bridge in one of the southern districts of Katowice. It would not be surprising, if not for the fact that the bridge stands in the middle of the forest and no railroad or road ran through it. In 1918, the prince of Pszczyna decided to build another mine in Podlesie in Gniotka. After exploring the deposit, he started preparatory investments. He built a concrete bridge in the Gniotek forest, which exists to this day, for the transport of materials and the removal of ore.

The bridge, which is about 9 m high and 20 m long, has a road and rail structure adapted to run over the top or the bottom of the railway track. The embankment was not built and now the reinforced concrete structure is covered with forest. The inhabitants of Podlesia call this bridge Gypsy, because in the interwar period Gypsies camped here.

Currently, there is no main path leading to the bridge. It's best to get there from Mikołów, otherwise it's very easy to get lost (description for traditionalists, without a good map installed, eg Komoot 😉).
