Alp Mädems is a cooperation alp in the municipality of Mels. 108 dairy cows and around 180 young cattle are summered every year. Every summer, over 100,000 liters of milk are processed into around 9,000 kilograms of the finest alpine cheese and 1,000 kilograms of alpine butter. The bulkheads are fed to the pigs. Alpine cheese tastes just as good in winter as it does in summer. So stock up on the delicacies when you visit.
