The Wendenpark is located on the southwest side of the Stralau peninsula between Caroline-Tübbecke-Ufer and Tunnelstraße.

Wenden is an outdated term for the Slavs in German-speaking countries. They were the first settlers on the peninsula. The old name Stralow indicates the Slavic origin. The word means arrowhead. This is probably due to the shape of the peninsula.
