A very beautiful gorge, into which you descend along a small path. The path is lined with several rocks, steep walls, and constantly changing views of the gorge. Especially in the colder months, you'll be practically alone here.

The Bodenbach Gorge is one of the wildest and most pristine gorges in the Swabian Forest. Sturdy footwear is required to descend into this magnificent rocky gorge via steps, narrow paths with railings, and small bridges. The valley walls are steep, with prominent rocks and ledges, from which boulders repeatedly break off and plunge into the gorge. The coniferous forest, rich in mosses and ferns, closely resembles the original forest landscape before human use and transformation. After about 700 meters, the gorge becomes "tamer," and the dirt path meets a forest road. A path leads gently downhill around a ridge to the neighboring Dentelbach Gorge.

        Good hiking boots are essential.

The nature reserve is characterized by striking rock formations, fallen boulders, and trees.

The Bodenbach Gorge is one of the wildest and most pristine ravines in the Swabian Forest.

The starting point of the hike through the Bodenbach Gorge is northeast of Vorderbüchelberg at the Seewiese hiking car park. The entrance is via a forest path (red bar) west of the crossroads, from which other paved forest and hiking trails branch off.

After just 100 meters, you can catch a glimpse of the magnificent rocky gorge. You descend via steps, narrow paths with railings, and small bridges.

The valley walls are steep, with protruding rocks and ledges, from which blocks repeatedly break off and tumble into the gorge. The surrounding forest is a ravine forest rich in firs and home to numerous mosses and ferns typical of the cool, damp Keuper range. The forest's appearance is still very close to the original forest appearance before human use and transformation began.

After about 700 meters, the ravine becomes more tame, and the dirt path meets a forest road that climbs slightly and then runs parallel to the slope above the ravine. It then leads gently downhill around a ridge to the neighboring Dentelbach gorge.
