The Ellenser Forest is a comparatively small mountain range in the area of the Vorsollings between Dassel and Lauenberg, which forms part of the Leinebergland (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellenser_Wald). The most striking peaks are the Burgberg (306m), which is prominent from Dassel, and the Scharfenberg, its highest elevation at 342m.
