Tips
The tree is about 100m from the Rennsteig near Schlegel, but the detour to the gnarled wild apple is worthwhile. Circumference about 3m, height about 5m, crown diameter about 6m, and the old man is already walking on the cane and has to be supported. The bizarre, hollow and approx. 1m thick trunk, filled with stones, makes it a natural experience
