Cerro del Puerco is a hill that rises to the east of Valsaín and that is fortified at its summit. The armored roofs of the bunkers have been blown up after the war, but it still has long parapets with loopholes and double walls. It is a good viewpoint of Peñalara, Siete Picos, Montón de Trigo, Pinareja and the entire Valsaín Valley.

The military constructions of Cerro del Puerco are old machine gun nests and trenches at a combat post during the Civil War, one of the worst episodes in Spanish history in the last century that left abundant remains in a multitude of hills, hills and strategic points. of the Sierra de Guadarrama where the two fronts of the conflict were established for three years. The military post of Cerro del Puerco was in the hands of the Francoist army in revolt and served as support in the battle of La Granja, which took place mainly in the vicinity of Cabeza Gorda and Cruz de la Gallega, at the beginning of June 1937, between Republican militias and Falangist troops. The reconstructions of the military installations of Cerro del Puerco show one of the best sets of military architecture preserved in the mountains, with parapets, forts, loopholes and a multitude of trench lines throughout the hill.
