Hiking

Cerro del Puerco is a hill that rises to the east of Valsaín and that is fortified at its summit. The armored roofs of the bunkers have been blown up after the war, but it still has long parapets with loopholes and double walls. It is a good viewpoint of Peñalara, Siete Picos, Montón de Trigo, Pinareja and the entire Valsaín Valley.

Hiking

The military constructions of Cerro del Puerco are old machine gun nests and trenches at a combat post during the Civil War, one of the worst episodes in Spanish history …

Hiking

Hill fortified by the National Army during the Civil War. In some parts, you can see names and dates engraved in the cement, of the soldiers who occupied that position.
