Beautiful sand dunes surrounded by golden brown hills next to the camping and staging area give a good sense of the desert landscape without having to drive further in along the Dumont road to the larger Dumont Dunes OHV area, which can be noisy. blm.gov/visit/dumont-dunes-ohv-area
