The original landing site in Erlangen was operated by the US Army from April 16, 1945 (when Erlangen surrendered to the Americans) to July 1, 1993, the day on which the decision to leave the base was made (which finally happened on June 30, 1994) used (Ferris Barracks).
The somewhat distant area near Weiher / Uttenreuth in the Reichswald was used as a military warehouse. In the meantime, the area, which is still cordoned off and alarmed as it was in military times, is being provided by BfB-Energie e.G. used as a solar park.
