Auchagallon Cairn is an ancient burial site overlooking Machrie Bay. The stone circle was built roughly 4,000 years ago and is one of many similar sites on this side of the Isle of Arran. The site is composed of 15 upright slabs, 13 made of red sandstone and two made of granite. Whilst the circle itself is fenced off, it is free to visit and you can still get close.
