The Hetlinger Schanze is a historical place. In the 17th century, a field hill with 4 bulwarks was built there on behalf of the Danish King Christian the V. Over the years the ski jump was expanded due to its favorable location on a narrow Elbe until it lost its importance in the 18th century.
