During the Second World War, Colle Umberto was the scene of violent clashes between the German troops and the partisans.
The parish church of San Tommaso, a building built between 1806 and 1809 on the site of an older place of worship, is the summit of the central and highest hill in the municipality, together with the bell tower of 1816
