One hundred years ago Ottavio Bottecchia (1894-1927) won the Tour de France. He was the first Italian cyclist to stand on the podium of the famous French race, wearing the yellow jersey from the first to the last stage for the first time ever. And he was also the first Italian - and to date the only one - to win two Tours consecutively: also his victory in 1925. In Colle Umberto, a municipality in Treviso where Bottecchia was born and lived for a long time, the celebrations for this centenary begin, twelve months of events which open with the inauguration of the “Ottavio Bottecchia” Museum. This is the first exhibition space entirely dedicated to the two-wheel champion set up in Italy. Promoting it is the Pro Loco of Colle Umberto and the municipal administration of Colle Umberto.
