Located at 1296 m a.s.l. La Calla is the highest road crossing in the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines.
Located between the provinces of Forlì Cesena and Arezzo, it was only opened in the 1930s, before then in fact the only passes in this area consisted of mule tracks and forest roads for the transport of timber that was transported from the forests to Casentino and therefore ' streamed towards Florence.
