A very well preserved castle/chateau from the 11th century. Medieval knight games are also held in summer. During her stays in the county of Sussex, Queen Victoria has also stayed here. The garden is beautifully laid out with palm trees, flowers and a fountain.

Arundel Cathedral (of Our Lady and St. Philip Howard). A striking Roman Catholic cathedral perched on a hill next to Arundel castle. It was opened in 1873 and can be described as having a French Gothic style of architecture. The large rose window filled with colourful stained glass is one of its most noticeable features.

The Cathedral is open all year round to the public from 10.30am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and 12.30pm to 4pm on Sundays. It is free to visit.

Built astride a hill Arundel Cathedral sits majestically, overlooking the ancient town of Arundel and stands out as a striking landmark in West Sussex. Henry, 15th Duke of Norfolk, Earl Marshal, was responsible for the commissioning of the present building in December 1868. The architect was Joseph Hansom, known principally for invention of the Hansom Cab, who had designed a variety of Catholic churches, convents and other buildings.
