Passo San Boldo, a borderland between the provinces of Treviso and that of Belluno, a place of passage for men and goods over the centuries.

The road is the one that until the early twentieth century was the "canàl de san Bòit", a rugged path that connected the Treviso Pre-Alps to Valbelluna. It was transformed into a carriage road by the Austrians between 1 February and 1 June 1918, in what is remembered as the Road of the Hundred Days. One hundred days of work, the broken backs of the Russian prisoners and the women of Tovena to build this engineering miracle with the tunnels dug into the rock with the rudimentary means of the time.

At the top, on the summit of Passo San Boldo, the Osteria La Muda, where wayfarers found accommodation and refreshment and where the duty was paid for the goods transported.

Today the San Boldo Pass overlooks the industrious Prosecco DOCG production area with rural Belluno behind it, rich in food products and biodiversity. On the border between two worlds, the San Boldo Pass is crossed for business or tourism reasons as it is a link between the two provinces and a passage of historical, sporting and naturalistic interest.

No Traffic If - Leave the cars ahead at the green light and you can enjoy almost the entire driveway without traffic. If you don't have enough time, let the oncoming traffic pass you at a bay and the road is yours again.
