The Traismauer Danube Bridge (also called St. George's Bridge) is the extension of the Krems Expressway S33 over the Danube. It connects the Stockerau expressway S5 from the Jettsdorf junction in the north with the existing S33 route towards St. Pölten at the Traismauer junction in the south. The bridge crosses the Danube at river kilometer 1991.35 in the storage area of the Altenwörth power plant.
This bridge was given the name Danube Bridge St. George in memory of the St. Georgen Monastery, which was founded on this site and which moved to Herzogenburg 130 years later as Herzogenburg Monastery.

The bridge also connects the southern and northern cycle paths of the Danube.

You can also ride twice, it's fun. Good thing!

The St. Georg Danube Bridge is accessible to cyclists and pedestrians via a separate footpath and cycle path. There is a separate footpath and cycle path for cyclists that runs along the bridge, which allows for a safe crossing of the Danube. Access to the bridge is via a specially constructed bicycle spiral, which is comfortable and safe to ride. The bridge is an important junction on the Danube Cycle Path, which runs along the Danube. It connects the northern and southern routes. Cyclists and pedestrians have a great view of the Danube and the surrounding landscapes from the bridge.
The original bridge was opened in 1980, the modernized version with improved infrastructure was completed in 2010. The St. Georg Bridge is a central part of the region's infrastructure and an important crossing for cyclists who want to explore the Kamptal, Traisental or the Danube region.
