Mountain biking
In the past, quartz - also known locally as "gravel" - was mined in this pit, which has given the area the name "Kiesau".
The quarry and the subsequent moor area are protected due to their geological importance and rare animal and plant species. As a cultural monument, the quartz quarry is to remain unchanged, the moorland is being renatured further.
