Tips
On the right, dense forest pulls up the slopes and on the left the floodplain of the Wickerbach, which is under nature protection, extends. The meadows on the other side of the stream have been declared a 10-hectare “Wickerbachtal nature reserve” since 1992.
The damp and wet meadows are the habitat of rare and threatened communities, which are characterized by marsh marigolds (in spring), cabbage thistles (in late summer) and various large sedges. A large number of amphibians and reptiles as well as some rare butterflies live here. In order to preserve the meadows and to prevent wastage and encroachment, the areas are mowed regularly in winter.translated by
