Cycling

Rather something for rail enthusiasts. Before 1989, it was an important route in commuter and holiday traffic, but quickly lost its importance after the motorization of the GDR. Today only the section between Gotha and Emleben is used to serve the Emleben tank farm. The means are lacking for tourist development and so the railway is slumbering in its deep sleep. The branch line from Georgenthal to Tambach-Dietharz is also part of the apple city cycle path as a cycle path.
