Of course, Kitzingen has much to offer.
However, in many disciplines, the "large district town" often only wins second place compared to the surrounding area.
Who e.g. Eating well in this room or trying wine in a cozy wine bar or in a quaint wine tavern, between Volkach and Marktbreit somewhere else easier to reach the goal.

The old Main Bridge is free for pedestrians and cyclists.
Accordingly, she is also gladly used for strolling and offers for photographing the ideal location and also presents itself as a beautiful subject.

The big district town Kitzingen is always worth a visit. Even for the cyclist, the old town has always something new to discover. Of course you can also visit the exhibition in the Rathaushalle or relax in the market with a cup of coffee. In the nearby Schrannenstraße there is a bicycle repair shop town

From May to October, every weekend from Thursday to Sunday you meet on the Old Main Bridge to the Kitzinger Stadtschoppen - the wine assortment is varied and varied and there's live music on top of that.

The building, first mentioned in documents in 1300 - at that time still made of wood - spans the Main and connects Kitzingen with the district of Tatsashausen and the garden show grounds on the bank.

The Alte Mainbrücke is located directly on the trade route from Frankfurt am Main via Würzburg and Nuremberg to Regensburg and replaced at that time risky ferry rides to cross the river Main. The importance of the stone bridge for the city is illustrated by the bridge image in the coat of arms.

The special feature of the idyllic stone arch bridge is that it is passable only for pedestrians and cyclists - cars have no traffic.

Beautiful view of the river Main and the promenade near Kitzingen. Ideal for cycling and pedestrians to change the main side, as no car traffic.

Coming from the eastern main cycle path, so from Albertshofen or Marktsteft, a welcome car-free Main crossing only for cyclists and pedestrians of Etwashausen in the old town of Kitzingen with numerous attractions. Immediately left on the bridgehead on the city side is the Tourist Info.

The Obere Mainkai in Kitzingen is the northern part of the Mainkai. Constant lapping of the waves, the pull of passing ships and, last but not least, various floods had severely affected the Upper Mainkai in Kitzingen for many decades. So much so that the quay had to be cordoned off with construction fences at the end of 2013. The quay has been renovated for several million euros since April 2019. This work should be completed by December 2020.

The old Main Bridge, also called "Pippinsbrücke", is one of the six Main Bridges in Lower Franconia that already existed in the Middle Ages. The first documentary evidence is from the year 1300, when the bridge took the place of a ferry.
The inner bridge gate was also the eastern gate in the city wall.
The original construction with twelve arches had to give way to a solution suitable for shipping in 1955.
The stone sculpture on the bridge is by Richard Rother (1925).

Great panorama! On the other side of the bridge (in the direction of Würzburg), comfortable benches invite you to linger (lie down).

Nice ice cream parlor in the center of Kitzingen with a large selection of ice creams. Also recommended are the yogurt varieties.

The remains of Bavaria's oldest port can be admired in Marktsteft. In Marktbreit, an old pedal crane on the Main is worth seeing. Kitzingen has a very beautiful old town with half-timbered houses. Also worth seeing is the St. Andreas Church with a carving by Tilman Riemenschneider, the town hall in Ochsenfurt with its moon clock and not to forget the old town.

You just have to stop on the car-free bridge, later along the Main it offers a great photo opportunity with the silhouette of the city of Kitzingen.

Small beautiful Franconian town. In which at least the temperatures are always hot. Down the Main, the right side (bike path) is smoother to drive.
