The mill in Nordermeldorf is a gallery Dutch mill.

The Galerieholländer was built in 1883 by the Meldorfer company Max Suhr on behalf of Jacob Friedrich Stührck, the owner of the Barsflether Altendeich farm. After two foreclosures and several sales, the mill came into the possession of the miller Christian Friedrich Paulsen, who died in 1907, leaving behind his wife and twelve children. His widow took over the management of the business and the 17-year-old son Carl Gustav did the actual milling work. During this time, namely in 1912, the construction of a storage room with a passage also fell. In 1918 Carl Paulsen took over the business of the mill.

After the switch from wind power to motor power (diesel and electric motors) in the war year 1942, the now useless blades and other components were dismantled eight years later. In 1962 Friedrich August Paulsen finally took over the management of the mill, which was finally shut down in 1981.

In 1998 the current owners bought the mill. This marked the beginning of an 18-year phase of refurbishment and renovation work, starting with the demolition of the ailing outbuildings and the gutting of the interior to the new construction of the mill cap in 2008. In 2013, the site was developed with water, electricity and gas and further interior work. In 2015 the owners finally moved in and in 2016 the newly built mill wings could be installed. That also meant the completion of the renovation work.

Today the windy Juliane is not only used privately as living space, but also for cultural events. The miller's house next to it, built in 1860, has now been converted into a holiday home.
