The Schwarzach is a year-round stream of the 2nd order, a right tributary of the Rednitz between Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate and Schwabach in Bavaria.
In the upper reaches of this Schwarzach is also called "front Schwarzach" to distinguish them from the eponymous tributary of the Altmühl, which in turn is called "rear Schwarzach". Both rivers are closer to less than five kilometers. The name is composed of the determinative word "black" for the dark color of the river water after the snowmelt, when it flooded numerous sediments, and from the basic word "Ache", a Celtic-Germanic name for streams and rivers.Further information: komoot.de/highlight/253708
