The 5.55 meter high sculpture is exactly the size of the Bremen Roland. The steel work was made by the company "Thiel Fördertechnik" in Bunnen in collaboration with the artist. The location of the sculpture is on the border between town and church grounds. This conscious positioning and the assumption of the size of Roland alludes to the historical dimension of the dialectic of the profane and the sacred, to the polarity between church and state, everyday life and religion.
