Tips
The hut is located at the foot of the impressive Adamello north rock face in the upper Val D'Avio, Garibaldi Hut (2,550m). Starting point for the ascents to Adamello and to all the peaks of Val D'Avio.
Today's hut was inaugurated in 1959, after the previous building erected in 1894 disappeared into the floods of the reservoir. The reservoir and dam were built by the largest electricity supplier in Italy. With the construction of the dam in 1958, the remains of an Italian field hospital from World War I also disappeared. The operator of the reservoir, Enel, had the hut set up as a replacement.
Most of the furnishings have remained unchanged for over 55 years.translated by
