From the top of its 3,178 meters, Mount Tabor dominates the Cerces massif and the Étroite valley. Until 1947, the summit marked the border between France and Italy. The Treaty of Paris changed this and Mount Tabor has since been entirely French.

However, it is not the highest peak in the area: Pic du Thabor, just a few steps away, rises to 3,207 meters above sea level. In any case, the view is exceptional!

Mont Thabor is a mountain in Savoy and Hautes-Alpes, France. It is located in the Massif des Cerces mountain range. It has an elevation of 3,178 meters above sea level, it is located near another summit, the Pic du Thabor, which culminates at 3,207 meters above sea level.
This summit has long marked the border between France and Italy. Near the top you will find a nice little stone chapel.

Very popular peak, in terms of difficulty it is similar to Chaberton. It can be reached from the Stretta valley with a long walk, over 9 km. It is possible to make a loop passing by the Peyron lake
