Rothenburg Gate

The Rothenburg Gate Tower, built around 1390, is adorned on the city side by a stepped gable decorated with pilaster strips. The pitch holes in the gate passage and the porch, a so-called barbican from the 16th century, with the bay windows testify to the defensive strength of Dinkelsbühl. On the second floor there are former prison rooms and a torture chamber.
