The path over the mountain spur at the Tenner Kreuz (2,017 meters) used to be an important connection between the remote Safiental and the Vorderrheintal. It happened that the people of Tenna had to carry their deceased over this pass for burial to Valendas, which is about 900 m lower than Tenna, a long, arduous path.
