Valendas is touristy in the lee of Flims and Laax, which does the townscape but good. And there is an active citizenship, which cares about the rich Baukultur heritage and is committed to a harmonious local development. An important success is the refurbishment of the Engihuuses at the well, for which the well-known Grisons architect Gion A. Caminada could be won. Now there is again a community hall and a nice inn. In front of it is the village square with the wooden well of 1760, which is considered the largest of its kind. Guarded by the fountain maiden with Florentine hat, the "perhaps most beautiful in the world" and a reference to the then long-traveled merchants from Valendas.
