Near Mělník, almost within sight of the confluence of the Vltava and Elbe rivers, stands the Rococo Hořín Castle. The original hunting lodge is located in the village of Hořín and was built at the end of the 17th century at the request of Count Jakub Černín according to the design of the architect GB Alliprandi. It was decorated with paintings by the painter FM Schiffer and his brother Antonín. In 1701, a riding hall was added to the castle.
