The current 17th century church was built on top of the 14th century hermitage, which in turn was enlarged in the second half of the 18th century with a project by José Martín de Aldehuela.
The hermitage of the Virgen de las Angustias is located on an esplanade with a leafy grove, overlooking the Júcar river gorge, forming a wonderful and romantic postcard, to which is added a privileged view.
