Cuenca Castle and its wall are fascinating historical elements located in the highest part of the city, between the gorges of the Júcar and Huécar rivers. The castle, originally an Islamic fortress, was conquered by Alfonso VIII in the 12th century. Although much of the castle was destroyed during the War of Independence, significant remains can still be seen, such as the Arch of Bezudo and some sections of the wall.
