Niedersachsenhaus from 1771 is a listed building like the staircase warehouse from 1760. These include an oven, a coach house from 1828, exhibits from household, handicrafts and agriculture, a furnished parlor, a weaving room with two chairs and a cottage garden.

The “Schimmes Hoff” home is only open on certain occasions, but the outdoor area with the outbuildings can be explored freely all year round. The site also includes a detailed signposted nature trail. Agricultural equipment is also available to explore in shelters, but unfortunately it is arranged in a confusing manner and is not explained.

Two access routes to Fintel's two northern paths also start at the Heimathaus. It is also an ideal starting point for a hike.

The Osterberg North Path starts here and there is also an access path to the Haxloher Erde North Path. Thus, both north trails can be easily combined into a 25 km hike.

There is a large free car park.

After the hike, a few benches with a view of the Heimathaus invite you to take a break. We enjoyed it very much.
