Tips
Zandoerle
The brink, the rectangular square of Zandoerle, is a protected village view. Six long-gabled farms surround this square planted with lime trees.
The Maria Chapel on the square is dedicated to Onze Lieve Vrouw van 't Zand.
A cannon from the Second World War has been set up in the middle of the square. This German anti-tank gun is of the type Panzer Abwehr Kanone (PAK) 40 and has a caliber of 75 mm. It was used by the Germans to shoot from Wintelre in the direction of Oerle. In September 1944 the gun was captured by the Allies and it was then placed on the square of Zandoerle during the liberation celebration of May 13, 1945.translated by
