The Söltjerbrunnen symbolizes the historical past of Bad Münder! Created in 1987 by the sculptor Bernd Maro, Söltjerbrunnen in Marktstraße shows two salt workers in front of the Siedepfanne. One scratches the crystallized salt together to dry it. The second figure symbolizes a salt carrier, who carries the salable salt in his Kiepe to the customers. Because of the intense heat in front of the boiling pan and the salt dust that attacks the skin, the salt workers were wrapped in heavy cowls with hoods.
