When construction began in 1910 and the inauguration in 1911 (provisionally completed in 1913 due to a lack of donations), the observation tower was still called the Bismarck Tower, and in July 1918 it was renamed the Hindenburg Tower. In the end, both names should not last forever - today the 30 m high observation tower is only referred to as the Moritzberg tower, although the Hindenburg tower is still carved over the door ledge. The key can be borrowed from the neighboring mountain inn. With the entry of two euros, the preservation of the anniversary tower is supported.

To my surprise, it was even signposted from the street and still had the "Hindenburgturm" lettering above the entrance. In the case of similar objects, the actual names have recently been happily dispensed with. Here, however, no one with a lack of historical knowledge has been at work. Unfortunately, there were some incredibly bad graffiti scribblers at work. It should be clear to everyone that graffiti has no place on such monuments. In this case in particular, I would suggest practicing in your own four walls first. Unfortunately, there was also a lot of rubbish lying around on the site.
