You don't have to go to Italy or another southern country to go on a hiking trail by the sea. The hiking trail from Achenkirch to Gaisalm and further to Pertisau offers exactly this idyll - a rocky and narrow path right by Lake Achensee that looks like a sea.

The "Mariensteig" has been awarded the "Tyrolean Mountain Trail with distinction" award because of its special scenic beauty, views and flora.
