The bathing beach was completely renovated in 2016. The beach also has outdoor exercise equipment and a climbing frame/playground for children. There are changing rooms and showers on the beach.

Please note that smoking is prohibited on all beaches in Espoo.

The official summer supervision period for Westend Bathing Beach starts in early June 2024 and ends in mid-August. Lifeguards were on site from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in 2024. Supervision will continue after mid-August, weather permitting. The beach will also be supervised during midsummer.

HEALTH NOTE: Blue-green algae can develop on Finnish beaches between seasons. It is advisable to ask locals beforehand if blue-green algae is present. If so, bathing with children or animals is not recommended and an adult shower is highly recommended. A mass proliferation of cyanobacteria can severely affect water quality and significantly limit water consumption. The bacteria produce a variety of secondary metabolites that act as allelochemicals, antibiotics, hormones and toxins. They can harm fish and zooplankton. Some of the poisons are among nature's most powerful gifts and can also be dangerous to the health of humans and land animals. For example, swimming can cause allergic skin reactions and vomiting. Sweating in water that contains cyanobacteria can also trigger gastrointestinal infections.
