The viaduct is a masonry structure with two rows of arches and is approximately 287 meters long, about 33 meters high, and has 21 arches spanning the Enz valley. The width of the vaults at the top is 7.45 meters, the clear span is 11.46 meters. The structure was put into operation on September 20, 1853, together with the Westbahn. It was the most elaborate single structure of the Royal Württemberg State Railways.
