Building and historyThe Romanesque village church serves primarily as a parish church. Its history dates back to the 12th century. In 1978, the church was closed due to collapse danger building police. Numerous attempts to save the church, which was slowly overgrown by ivy, and the severely damaged building fabric failed because of the lack of money and materials.
Finally, in 1998, thanks to numerous grants and donations, the first construction works could be started. On Christmas Eve 1998, after 20 years, the congregation celebrated its first church service. Since it was already clear then that the building had become too large for the parish church, which numbered just under 200 members, a usage concept was developed.
After the emergency measures, the funds gradually ranged to remedial work. Since September 21, 2002, the parish church is now open to visitors, not only for regular church services and cultural purposes, but also serves as a motorway church for people in search of contemplation.Source:
