Bike Touring Highlight
The Senftenberg lakes are always worth a visit. Anyone who has come to know the area at other times can appreciate what has been created here over many years with a lot of energy, commitment and money.
At the bathing season, the bike paths are a bit crowded in some places by the "bathers", so that a fluid driving is sometimes not possible and the bicycle bell must bring top performance. Otherwise highly recommended! Try it.

The Senftenberger See emerged from the former Niemtsch opencast mine.
The lake was one of the first consciously designed recultivation measures in Lusatia.
Very clear water, very beautiful island.
In the 90s, the redesign of the bike paths around the lake began, now completely around the lake with great bike paths, certainly a bit crowded in summer.
I've been going to it several times a year for over 25 years.
Lots of beautiful beaches, restaurants and campsites.
