The Aumühle was built in a perfect location on the Flemish Road, an old trade route, before 1383. The mill still stands here today, even if it is no longer in its original form. In 1905 it was rebuilt after a fire and converted into a hydroelectric power station. During the Second World War, the mill was destroyed by blowing up the bridge on which it is located, and after the war it was rebuilt as a tube power station.
