A very scenic and varied tour with a fantastic view!

The ascent from the south from the Weitsee car park is also recommended. With the exception of the first 100m, this only leads via T2 / T3 routes. So there are practically no wide and boring forest roads to walk. This approach route is also quite lonely and leads almost continuously through the forest - very pleasant on warm days. The view from the Hörndlwand is of course magnificent, you overlook the Chiemgau Alps with Hochfelln and Hochgern, all the way to the Kampenwand. The Watzmann already shows up to the east. Incidentally, the summit and approach area are located in the Eastern Chiemgau Alps nature reserve, so you should be aware of and observe the relevant protection rules (especially in the alpine pastures south of the summit area!).
