In 1965, the municipality of Pfedelbach built Buchhorn's landmark, the 38.5-meter-high water tower with a 35-meter-high viewing platform, northeast of the lake. Visitors enjoy a magnificent view of the Hohenlohe Plain.

The municipality of Pfedelbach built the 38.5 m high water tower in 1965. The storage volume is 200 m³. The Buchhorn water tower made the water supply for Buchhorn and Heuberg more reliable. But only the first section of the new water supply building in 1994 improved the water supply decisively. Again and again there were supply difficulties, especially in Buchhorn and in the higher areas of Gleichen. The springs and the deep well in Gleichen can now be used in their entirety and their entire fill can be mixed with external water in the new elevated tank in the same building. If one of the springs fails, water can be pumped via a ring line to the Gleichen elevated tank and to the water tower in Buchhorn. In 2007 the water tower was extensively renovated.
