Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)
The Nordschleife of the Sauerlandring is part of the state project "Alleenradwege on former railway lines" and leads from Wennemen to the branch Sallinghausen. Originally the railway line Finnentrop-Wennemen was put into operation in 1911. Until 1966 passenger transport was on the 35.5 kilometer long route and until 1996 goods were transported on the route of the popularly named "Kardinalsexpress". Since 2007 bicycles now roll on the old railway line, which makes up part of the Sauerland ring.
