An old chestnut alley, which was created more than 200 years ago between the castle Dyck and the Nikolaikloster. Unfortunately, walking is not allowed due to the condition of the trees.

With over 214 trees planted between 1794 and 1811, the sweet chestnut avenue at Schloss Dyck is the largest and probably also the oldest still existing sweet chestnut avenue in all of Germany!
It connects the moated castle Dyck with the Nikolauskloster over a length of approx. 1,100 m. The gnarled old trees are a valuable habitat for (rare) bird species and endangered bat species. The avenue belongs to the Dyck Castle Park, where a center for garden art and landscape culture is located.

The street of garden art also leads to Dyck Castle Park, which is of particular interest to dendrologists due to its abundance of old and rare trees.
